Giddings Fiesta was established in March of 2023 from an inspired idea from Ricky & Jessica Rodriguez for the love of their culture. The goal is to educate the public about the rich culture of the Hispanics through food, arts, dance, customs, celebrations with colorful history. This event was created for all walks of life to enjoy, to experience and have a gathering together in unity. Together we can achieve so much more, education is the key to everything and what better way to learn than immersion. The colors of the culture are attractive, festive and welcoming, the music is upbeat, festive with many instruments creating a fun filled atmosphere. The food creates an aroma to heighten the senses and inspire a hunger within and the taste enlightens the tastebuds creating smiles originating from within. This is only a touch of the dream, there is so much more when experiencing it first-hand.
Family is everything in the Hispanic culture, so the event is created for all ages to enjoy together. The burden of taking a family out in today’s world is costly so the vision of having many attend was to make it as much of a free event as possible. This proved to be successful only through sponsorships from businesses, individuals and fundraising. The idea of giving back to the community was overwhelming and inspired a step further through funding scholarships. Giddings Fiesta prays it will be around for many years to come bringing unity ever closer with each passing year!
Our Mission Statement
Thank you!
Good evening Council and Mayor,
My name is Ricky Rodriquez and this is my wife Jessica and Team members, Sandra Lopez and Tracy Tovar. On behalf of my wife and I, and the Giddings Fiesta team, we would like to thank all the city council members, the city of Giddings for allowing us to celebrate our first annual Giddings Fiesta representing Hispanic Culture. We are so thankful for the amazing turnout. This event made us realize how we have a good community by bringing everybody together, creating a positive atmosphere and having fun. Despite the bad weather, we all helped each other with a smile on our face and realized how many people from all over helped each other out and still putting on a great performance. This is what makes a great community. So once again we wanted to thank the city of Giddings, city manager Spencer Schneider, our Mayor Joel Lopez and all city council members for voting yes to this big pportunity.
Thank you to Mrs. Sandra Lopez for guiding us every step in making this event so successful. Will see everyone again next year at the Giddings Fiesta with bigger and better ideas.
It was all
a dream.
Always the 3rd weekend in September.
